According to UK fire legislation, the person responsible for the premises must make sure that everyone can evacuate safely in the event of a fire.
This course will help those with responsibility for planning safe evacuation to develop the plans needed to assist people at additional risk due to a disability, impairment or health issue.
Having completed this e-learning course, learners should be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of how human behavior can help or hinder safe evacuation
- Show clear knowledge of the factors to take into account when developing an evacuation plan
- Carry out Personal or General Emergency Evacuation Planning (PEEPs and GEEPs)
The course also includes a downloadable checklist to help learners to apply their learning when creating and managing Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans.

The estimated duration of the course is thirty minutes. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like, and there is no limit on how long you can take to do the course.
This course is for people at work in businesses of all types and sizes who are responsible for planning evacuation strategies to assist people at additional risk due to a disability, impairment or health issue.
There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
On completion of this course you will be able to print a Fire Protection Association (FPA) certificate.
