Course Overview

UK fire legislation places the responsibility for fire safety in the workplace on the responsible person in England and Wales, also called the 'duty holder' in Scottish legislation and the 'appropriate person' in Norther Ireland.

The responsible person has many duties imposed upon them by the relevant legislation and this course develops awareness of those duties and how to meet the requirement.

Having completed this e-learning course, learners should be able to:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive awareness of the requirements of the legislation
  • Show knowledge of common facts and figures about fire and its effects

The course also includes a downloadable resource to help learners to apply their learning after they have completed the course.

Duration

The estimated duration of the course is fifteen minutes. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly you can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like, and there is no limit on how long you can take to do the course.

Target Audience

 

This course is for people at work in simple business premises of all types and sizes who hold overall responsibility for the safety of people on their premises from fire.

That person has many duties imposed upon them by the relevant fire legislation and this course develops awareness of those duties and how to meet the requirement.

There are no entry requirements for this course.

Accreditation

On completion of this course you will be able to download an FPA certificate.
